3. Promoting community service.
4. Promoting a positive outlook and enhancing self esteem.
Our interest is to encourage the youth of Jamaica, in getting their education by making it more affordable and therefore more accessible while promoting hope, a positive outlook and prosperity for the betterment of not only themselves, but for our beautiful country of Jamaica.
Areas of Focus:
Year One:
The Palmyra Foundation supplied, WITHOUT CHARGE, all infant public school children in St. James with their textbooks. Our goal was met, as approximately 2,000 children received all of their required textbooks for the commencement of the school year, September 2007. Our first year financial goal $4,400,000 JMD, was also met.
Year Two:
The Palmyra Foundation supplied, WITHOUT CHARGE, 50,000 textbooks to 10,971 infant school children in Jamaica, at a cost of over $285,000 USD.
Future Years:
The Palmyra Foundation has a further goal of supplying 1 million textbooks within 5 years!
As awareness grows, so will The Palmyra Foundation and eventually, the ultimate goal of being able to help all of the Public school children in St. James totaling over 40,000 children, will be fulfilled.
A self-imposed annual audit on the foundation is provided by Deloitte & Touche. This audit will insure the sponsors that EVERY DOLLAR donated will go directly to the beautiful children providing them with educational tools. This is possible because of the generous donation from The Palmyra Resort & Spa who is covering all of the operating expenses.

Aim for Future Years

The Palmyra Foundation will supply textbooks to more and more children in future years with the mission of supplying all textbooks to all the students in St. James. With the further aim of expanding the Foundation's mission of supplying textbooks, to include supplying uniforms, school lunches and more.
