The Palmyra Resort & Spa at Rose Hall celebrates its official groundbreaking today.
(Rose Hall, Jamaica) - August 30, 2005 -The Palmyra Resort & Spa at Rose Hall, Jamaica's first luxury beachfront condo hotel community, celebrates its official groundbreaking today. Located next to the Ritz-Carlton(r) on 16 acres of pristine waterfront land in Montego Bay, The Palmyra offers world-class amenities including preferred access to three internationally-acclaimed golf courses and a five-star ESPA, designed by award-winning, internationally-recognized spa designer Susan Harmsworth. Brought to life by Michele Rollins, chairperson of Rose Hall Developments, Ltd. and Robert T. Trotta of the Europe-based Resort Properties Group, The Palmyra's groundbreaking marks the first development of its kind in Jamaica and is in a fortuitous leadership position within Rose Hall's growth.
"Today's groundbreaking symbolizes our commitment to Rose Hall and to the people of Jamaica," said Trotta, developer of The Palmyra. "The Palmyra will celebrate Jamaica's rich history and vibrant culture, helping Jamaica assure its stature as the premier vacation destination in the Caribbean."
The Palmyra's groundbreaking launches phase one of construction, which encompasses 11 villas, two condo buildings, the Susan Harmsworth-designed ESPA, the Owners Clubhouse, the infinity pool and the private beach, set for completion in the third quarter of 2007. The real estate offering will provide exclusive access to the resort for both second home owners and those looking for an investment opportunity through the managed rental program. The complete real estate offering includes 13 duplex buildings comprising 26 villas and five condominium buildings with approximately 630 individual condo units. Prices for the villas and condos range from the upper $300s to $1.9 million. The Palmyra has already attracted dozens of buyers from all over the world and has caught the attention of global media.
Through a variety of departments including sales, marketing, construction, management, personal concierge services, customer service, spa, restaurants and maintenance, The Palmyra has and will continue to create an estimated 1,000 new jobs in Jamaica. Additionally, The Palmyra staff will help its residents and guests explore the best of Jamaica by coordinating guided adventures with local tour companies, directing guests to notable landmarks and events such as the Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues festival, and ensuring all facets of their vacations are seamless and memorable.
"We're thrilled to help support the Jamaican economy by creating more than one thousand jobs at The Palmyra," said Trotta. "The Palmyra is in a pivotal position as it leads the renaissance of Jamaica's Gold Coast, and with the help of our entire team we will provide an unparalleled experience, which will ultimately attract more visitors to Jamaica."
