(Montego Bay, JAMAICA) - December 3, 2007 - The Palmyra Resort & Spa at Rose Hall, Jamaica, scooped the award for Best Innovation at the UK Homes Overseas Awards, also called the ‘Oscars' of international real estate.

The Palmyra Resort & Spa competed exclusively in the category of Best Innovation, which recognizes developers that are ahead of current standard industry thinking in their approach to planning, design or construction. "The judges were extremely impressed with the ambition shown by the developers of The Palmyra Resort & Spa, both in terms of the high-quality interior and exterior design, and the efforts made to lessen the development's impact on the environment", stated Sarah Negrin, Editor Homes Overseas Magazine. Negrin continued, "A combination of luxury lifestyle facilities and environmental awareness is precisely the sort of innovation we were hoping to see at this year's awards, and The Palmyra Resort is deserving of its recognition in the Innovation category."
Featuring judging panels made up of respected professionals from across the real estate industry, including architects, surveyors and renowned property journalists, the Homes Overseas Awards aim to provide a seal of approval that offers prospective second home buyers with peace of mind.
Mike Hayes, Deputy Editorial Director of Homes Overseas Awards states, "This year's Homes Overseas Awards has produced some of the most interesting developments we've yet seen, and The Palmyra Resort & Spa is a great example. The resort is already setting new standards in Jamaican residential property development, and some of the latest announcements - including the impressive new master plan and membership of the Leading Hotels of the World group - will surely place it among the top resorts in the Caribbean."
Expanded to include more destinations currently attracting interest from the second home market as well as a dozen new categories, the 2007 Homes Overseas Awards acknowledged the truly global nature of the overseas property market.
