(MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA) - September 26, 2007 - More than 500 professionals from 56 different countries around the globe gathered at London's Grosvenor Square for the 2007 CNBC International Property Awards Gala Dinner on September 14th, presented by former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond. Making a mark for Jamaica, The Palmyra Resort & Spa took home two silver plaques for Best Caribbean Development and Best Property Marketing at the awards, now in their 13th year, which distinguish the highest levels of achievement in the global real estate industry.
Award winners are selected by an expert panel of highly respected judges, whose collective knowledge of the real estate industry is second to none. Chaired by Eric Pickles, Minister of Parliament (MP), British Shadow Secretary of State, the panel is handpicked for their expertise in a variety of disciplines relating to the design, development and marketing of property, and draws on the invaluable expertise of representatives from the UK National Association of Estate Agents; Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors; National Housebuilding Council; Association of Relocation professionals and the British Interior Design Association.
One of the six highest scorers of all the entries worldwide in the category of Best Property Marketing, the Palmyra is also nominated for the global title of Best International Property Marketing. Said Stuart Shield, founder and MD of the CNBC International Property Awards;- "The Palmyra Resort & Spa has been nominated for one of the top awards in this competition, and I would like to extend my personal congratulations on reaching this level of achievement."
Held at the famous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas on November 16th, The Palmyra will compete against five other nominees for the title of best global marketer. Concluded Shield; "We are going on to crown the year with our event in Las Vegas on November 16th where the highest point scoring winners will be identified as the best in the world."
Said Frank Perolli, Director of Marketing at The Palmyra Resort & Spa; "We are delighted with our success at the CNBC International Property Awards and the recognition of The Palmyra as Best Caribbean Development. Obviously, we are also very excited to be competing for the title of ‘best marketers in the world'. Our success is based on team work and creative thinking, and we are thrilled that our efforts are being recognized by such a distinguished panel of independent judges."
The CNBC International Property Awards are supported by five media partners and no less than nine professional bodies, their aim being to identify the very best in the residential property market. Winners earn the right to display the CNBC International Property Awards logo, a recognized symbol of excellence, on their marketing materials, helping discerning property buyers get an independent review of the properties they seek to buy. Said founder and MD, Stuart Shield;- "I'm delighted that the awards have grown to such a stature that they have attracted the attention and support of some of the world's major newspapers - the Daily Mail, New York Times and Sydney Morning Herald - which helps to give the winners even more coverage."
Additionally, the 2007 CNBC International Property Awards winners are featured in the ‘World's Best' Magazine, a special Awards issue distributed in conjunction with the property title International Homes. Commented Vice-chairman of the judges and Editor-in-Chief of International Homes magazine Helen Shield; "Buying a property is quite probably the most significant personal expense anyone is likely to make during their lifetime and, with competition fiercer than ever within the market, it's increasingly difficult for the discerning purchaser to know where to start searching. Developers and estate agents use their award success to stand out in the crowded market place."
Commented Ragni Trotta, VP of Marketing at The Palmyra Resort & Spa; "Being recognized as one of the ‘best in the world' in the field of marketing is a huge honor, especially in such a wide reaching, global competition. Marketing The Palmyra real estate opportunity really means marketing Jamaica first, because people need to be sold on the location before they even look at the product. Our two CNBC International Property Awards gives Jamaica and The Palmyra the independent stamp of approval that property buyers are looking for."
